Hello & Welcome,
I’m Abby

I grew up in an artist’s loft in New York City located in TriBeCa. My mother is an artist and her studio served as my playground, offering endless opportunities to weave between racks of oil paintings and plaster casts. To this day, the scent of turpentine brings me back to my youth, and it is in these formative years that I cultivated my love of art.

This passion was enriched by my grandmother, who was also an antiques dealer and enthusiastic collector based in Miami. Between the women on both sides of my family, I gained the kind of education that can only be taught through many years of rigorous hands-on study at markets, brocantes, museums, and auctions.

When most children were gifted toys, I was given a loop and a Miller’s Guide. It is no surprise that my love of art extended to my formal education, where I went on to study Fine Art and English Literature at Hamilton College. After graduating at the top of my class with dual honors, I went on to try my hand at working in finance at Goldman Sachs and GE Capital.

While I loved my corporate time, I continued to collect and source throughout. Antiques were a beacon, and it was commonplace for my colleagues to ask me about my sourcing finds instead of the pitchdeck on the agenda. As I began sharing my curatorial talents with my network, I started sowing the seeds of what would become my business. Then, an opportunity to read English Literature at the University of Oxford brought me to England.

It was during my Masters at Oriel College that I met my husband on a blind date. Nearly a decade later, we live in Woodstock with our rescue bichon, Pops. Since then, our wine cellar has transformed into a painting store and shelves that once held spare lightbulbs and cleaning products now don antique vessels and ornate candlesticks.

I am delighted that I now have the pleasure of consulting with private clients by appointment in my home, bringing hand-chosen works to their spaces, and meeting new customers in the field, literally, at international antiques markets. As my business has grown, so has the demand for an online platform, one with regular collections that can be shopped all across the globe.

With that, I am delighted to present Fox House Antiques.
